Welcome to the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory of the Electrical Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. I lead this laboratory. I have been working with nanodielectrics for close to two decades, and my areas of expertise include partial discharges, failure mechanisms in polymer nanocomposites, multifunctional materials, and application of computational techniques to the physics of dielectrics. I obtained my Master’s and PhD degrees from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and have worked as a post-doctoral researcher and visiting faculty at the Technical University, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and the University of Windsor, Canada. I have volunteered for IEEE DEIS,  IEEE PES, as well as the IET India, for over many years, and currently am an Associate Editor of IEEE TDEIS, member of the IEEE DEIS Education Committee and IEEE DEIS Administrative Committee. I am committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the sciences. I am also a published translator of Bengali literature into English.
